PROJECTS THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE

We know that many of you have supported the camp both financially and through service and building projects. Some find it easier to donate materials or labor rather than funds for general use and may prefer to adopt specific projects.

See below for a “wish list” of projects and items that the Camp Bethany leadership have identified as helpful for the near and long term future. We would love for you to share these ideas at your church to consider adopting or supporting a project for the camp.

If you are interested in adopting a project, we ask that you contact us for more details to coordinate projects and provide any necessary input or oversight.

Metal roofs (5 cabins)

Some of our cabin roofs are nearing the end of their life-span. We are seeking to transition to metal roofs for all buildings as a longer-lasting solution.

current estimate: $5,300/cabin +$900 for downspouts

Vinyl siding

Vinyl siding is more maintenance friendly, reducing costs in the long-term.

current estimate: $6,000/cabin

windows for lodge

Windows in the older section of the lodge were not replaced in the renovation. Many need to be repaired or replaced.
Replacements would improve energy efficiency.

playground equipment

We currently lack quality play equipment for our youngest visitors to camp (ages 0-5). Useful items include, but are
not limited to: new swings (at least one infant bucket seat), slides, climb & crawl equipment, balance beams, see-saws, spring riders, musical elements, etc.

2 auto-start generators

When electricity is lost, the camp is not able to function until someone from Ashland drives to the camp and attaches a portable, old generator. These new generators would greatly benefit our facilities in the event of outages.

3-season room for lodge

This would allow for another meeting place for small group classes.
