Founded through the generous donation of the Harris Family Farm and fervent prayers, since 1957 Camp Bethany has continued the legacy of our Christian community. Deeply connected to the Brethren Church, the camp has also expanded to serve various congregations across Ohio and its neighboring states. Our mission remains focused on guiding young people and others in their spiritual journey.

Camp Bethany serves a diverse community, welcoming campers who have completed first grade through high school, with additional programs available for individuals beyond high school. This inclusive environment aims to nurture growth and exploration for young people at various stages of their life journey. Additionally, Camp Bethany proudly supports churches throughout the Ohio region, fostering connections and community engagement through our various programs and offerings.
Our camp board consists of volunteer representatives from Brethren churches in Ohio who guide our camp’s policy decisions.

Camp Bethany staff members are passionate about fostering deep connections with one another and with God. Many of our staff are former campers who return to Camp Bethany because they recognize the profound impact the camp and their own counselors had on their spiritual journeys. They want to give back by investing in the next generation of campers, knowing how powerful it is to be a mentor and a Christ-like role model. They lead games, activities, small groups, worship sessions, campfires, and devotionals, all while helping campers build meaningful relationships and grow in faith.
Being a camp counselor is a dream role for many, and for good reason: it’s a position where lives are changed. Our staff is dedicated to caring for each camper, and all have undergone thorough background checks to ensure a safe environment as they walk alongside campers in their spiritual growth.
